Build your dream. This is what I did as a photographer.
As I look back, the road was not always easy but the determination persisted. I can remember the days as a little boy fascinated by the camera, reading and looking at the pictures in Look, Life and National Geographic magazines. I would vicariously put myself in these places as a cameraman taking those breath taking pictures.
My skills go back to the days when film was king, when you developed and printed your own pictures. In today's digital era you have to know how to blend old school knowledge with modern day technology. I achieved a life long goal of obtaining a degree in art with photography as my concentration.
I consider myself a life long student in photography because as a student you are always willing to learn and to me this is key to staying on top. I have never been afraid to try different things or explore all the different aspects of photography, this is what they call thinking out of the box.
The basic things a photographer needs are light, composition and subject. It's how a photographer arranges and control these three elements to form eye catching pictures. Even these basic elements take time to master. My photography resume' will show that I have worked as a freelance photographer for three different studios and have taught on a college level. I have experience in weddings, studio photography (both on and off location), birthdays and special events. I have also been contracted to do photography for Essex County College. I am a active member in good standing of the Professional Photographer of America.
Somewhere I recall someone saying that if you do something that you love to do it will never seem like work. I can say that I have truly founded my passion.
